UKCA marking is all about traceability, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance. As a certified company, Foudy’s Welding & Fabricating Ltd operates under a fully documented Factory Production Control (FPC) system.
The UKCA certification demonstrates Foudy’s Welding & Fabricating Ltd have met the requirement of BS EN 1090 – Execution Class 2. BS EN 1090 is a harmonized standard that covers structural/construction steel and aluminium products that are installed in a permanent manner.
The company has been assessed by Centre for Assessment (CFA) and is pleased to confirm it has successfully achieved a certified FPC in line with UKCA.
Where did UKCA marking come from and what happens if its not used?
UKCA marking was introduced in 2021 as the UK’s alternative to CE marking after Brexit. Working as a steelwork company without a UKCA or CE marking is considered breaking the law. Since July 2014, steelwork sold on the European market without Conformity Assessed marking (UKCA or CE) has been illegal.
